Tv Season Info
The Durrells is machine-tooled family-friendly escapism just when we need it most.
You have to watch The Durrells like a hawk. For the most part it is simply great fun, but every now and then the writers like to sneak in a hint of an issue.
You wouldn't find subplots as bad as Margo's soap sculpture and Larry's broken leg in, say, Corrie. But it's difficult to get angry with this show; to hate it would be like hating a yellow Labrador.
Every shot is a delight, a warm bath of olive oil you just want to sink into.
