If Stevenson and her crew avoid further lazy fetch-quest plots and keep to the emotional core they build here, She-Ra and the Princesses of Power has the potential to become a new fantasy classic.

She-Ra and the Princesses of Power gives children the representation many of us did not have growing up, and honestly, it's about time.

Netflix's reboot is warm and cheerful while not dismissing anyone's emotions, especially those that younger viewers can relate to. As much as it is about adventure and superpowers, it's also about kindness and empathy.

Sure, other shows may have explored some of the ideas She-Ra touches on better, but the series still manages to be remarkably inclusive, not just in terms of casting, but with regards to the themes it explores.

New She-Ra is great. It has compelling characters, exciting story arcs and solid laughs. It picks up the original's power sword but is clearly cutting its own trail. It's strong, inclusive and entertaining.

Audience Reviews for She-Ra and the Princesses of Power: Season 1

Its an odd show to be honest. While I like the concept of the first ones story line, and it makes a lot of sense. It does give you more than the original TV show from the 80s. That much of the show I do like. What I do not like about the show is the men are all very metro sexual. Bow and The Sea Captain are both so borderline gay I am not sure this is a good example of men. While the show is all about girl power, its just a bad example of a show with values for young kids. Bow seems like a girls best gay friend. Oddly I am watching it, but not a great show.
